Joe Manchin killed 'Build Back Better' and the Democrats are losing their minds!

Joe Biden's $2 trillion 'Build Back Better' bill is officially dead - mostly thanks to Democrat Senator Joe Manchin, who will not support the insane spending bill, denying Biden the 50 votes he needs in the Senate.

Manchin reiterated his position, saying:

“I cannot vote to continue with this piece of legislation. I just can’t. I’ve tried everything humanly possible. I can’t get there. This is a no on this legislation."

Democrats are losing their minds over Manchin's decision:

Jen Psaki wrote a 700-word statement that sounded like an angry teenager's diary entry. In response to the Manchin quote above, she basically called him a liar, saying his words were “at odds with his discussions thiswith the President, with White House staff, and with his own public utterances.”

AOC tweeted: "We knew he would do this"

Rep. Ilhan Omar kept it as classy as you'd expect from who married her own brother: “Let’s be clear: Manchin’s excuse is bull****."

Rep. Pramila Jayapal, chair of the far-left Progressive Caucus, said: "Senator Manchin has betrayed his commitment not only to the President and Democrats in Congress but most importantly, to the American people."

Obama's former Senior Advisor, David Axelrod suggested Manchin was playing Biden all along, tweeting: "I’m not saying Joe Manchin set out to undermine POTUS and Democrats. But if that were his plan, I’m not sure he would have done one thing differently."

There's nothing I enjoy more than watching the left implode.


POLLS OR PROPAGANDA?

The Democrat meltdown over Joe Manchin is an opportunity to talk about polls and how politicians misrepresent them for political purposes...

The knives are out for Joe Manchin. In the wake of the Democrat Senator from West Virginia killing Joe Biden's $2 trillion dollar 'Build Back Better' climate and social welfare bill, the left is using all its dirty tricks to tarnish his reputation with his constituents in West Virginia.

Ilhan Omar tweeted: "[West Virginians] support Build Back Better by a 43 point margin. This has nothing to do with his constituents. This is about the corruption and self-interest of a coal baron."

The poll she cites has been shared by dozens of prominent Democrats over the last few days. So I decided to look into it and was not surprised to discover that it was a B.S. poll, conducted by a far-left-wing pollster.

The pollster: The poll was conducted by 'Data for Progress'. They describe themselves as a "progressive policy and polling organization." Here are a few examples of politicians who call themselves "progressive":

...so you can see where the pollster's political affiliations lie.

The question: Tell me if you notice anything curious about the way the pollster positioned their question to West Virginians:

Some lawmakers in Congress are proposing a $3.5 trillion investment plan. This plan would expand Medicare benefits and make healthcare, child care, and long-term care for seniors and people with disabilities more affordable. This plan would invest in clean energy, and extend tax cuts for most families with children. Do you support or oppose this investment plan?

...It's like asking someone if they would like to drive a Corvette for the next 3 years and not mention that they need to pay $1,200 per month for it. They lay out all the goodies in the bill, without mentioning any of the legitimate concerns that Joe Manchin raised in his opposition to the bill

Other issues:

This survey was also conducted four months ago in August. Since then we've seen inflation surge and Biden's poll numbers plunge. It should be irrelevant today. But because it helps push the "progressive" agenda, it's being shared far and wide.

This also surveyed just 348 voters and it doesn't list how they contacted them: by phone, email, etc.
This is why you should never take a poll at face value. And if a politician like Ilhan Omar throws around a stat that sounds too ridiculous to be true... it probably is. So look into it.
