WASHINGTON — The FBI and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating “questionable vials” labeled "smallpox" and found in a freezer last night at a Merck facility outside Philadelphia, according to an alert sent to Department of Homeland Security leadership on Tuesday night.

CDC confirms monkeypox in U.S. traveler from Nigeria
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention late yesterday confirmed a case of human monkeypox in a U.S. resident who recently traveled from Nigeria to the United States. The person is currently in isolation in Maryland. CDC is working with the airline and international, state and local health officials to contact airline passengers and others who may have had contact with the patient. CDC believes the risk of spread to other travelers on the flight to the U.S. is low because they were required to wear masks on the plane and in U.S. airports due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

CDC asks U.S. health care providers to watch for poxvirus-like lesions, particularly among travelers returning from Nigeria, and to report suspected cases immediately to state or local public health authorities regardless of whether they are also exploring other potential diagnoses. 

A rare but potentially serious viral illness, monkeypox typically begins with flu-like illness and swelling of the lymph nodes and progresses to a widespread rash on the face and body. Monkeypox re-emerged in Nigeria in 2017 after more than 40 years with no reported cases. Since then eight cases have been reported in international travelers from Nigeria, including a case this July in Texas.

Biden vaccine mandate looks DOOMED as Sixth Circuit appeals court gets jurisdiction, OSHA suspends enforcement
Even before OSHA had announced suspension of Biden’s illegal vaccine mandate earlier today, I recorded the Situation Update podcast late last night (see below), predicting that the Biden vaccine mandate was doomed.

Why? The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals isn’t the only court involved in this. Now, the Sixth Circuit court has taken up the consolidation of 30+ lawsuits against the mandate, spanning the entire country. And the Sixth court has 27 judges, with 20 out of 27 of those judges being nominated by conservative presidents (Bush 1, Bush 2, Trump and even Reagan).

With the Fifth Circuit court issuing its stay of the mandate, and the Sixth Circuit court now taking up the lawsuits filed across the country, it looks like Joe Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandate is headed for the trash heap of history. (As is Joe Biden’s entire presidency, come to think of it…)
