My guests are the cast of the new Bounce and Brown Sugar show Johnson. Deji
LaRay, Philip Smithey, Thomas Q. Jones, and Derrex Brady. Johnson has a wonderful ensemble cast that includes some pretty powerful women who are happy to share their thoughts with the men in a real way that pulls no punches.




The old saying timing is everything is I think the best way to describe the new Bounce–Brown Sugar show Johnson that drops on August 1, at 8 PM ET, 7 PM CT, 6 PM MT and 5 PM PT on Bounce or stream it on demand Brown Sugar.




The series is set in Atlanta and revolves around four lifelong friends — all sharing the same last name Johnson but not related. The lead characters are specifically written from the Black male point-of-view to explain why men make certain decisions that revolve around friendships, love, and heartbreak.



Like all good shows, it gets the point across and at the same time has a sense of humor that allows the viewer to watch the cast deal with pretty heavy matters.



This is a show that I am sure will be a social media version of a “water cooler,” show.



People will be talking about Johnson because it is well-written, well-acted, well-directed, and most importantly when this country sees so many stereotypes of black men we need a show like Johnson that is real.




I can’t recommend Johnson enough because we all need to watch this show not just because of its message, or its point of view but because it is a damn good program that deserves your time and is well worth watching, period, full stop.
