But life gets REAL as an ADULT only child when you fully grasp the prospect of having to balance your own life with sole responsibility for assisting your parents as they age. Caregiving can place strains on your family, career, and mental and physical health. Siblings can tackle this as a team. But as an only child, how will you handle the stress of bearing sole responsibility for financial decisions, hospital visits and/or emergencies of aging parents? I researched some of the details of her estate plan and it's execution, and developed these takeaways based on what Princess Diana did well and what could have been better: 1) Have An Estate Plan 2) Have Your Estate Plan Created By Attorney/Lawyer Who Specializes In This Area and 3) Be Thoughtful About Who You Designate As The Executor And Trustee Of Your Will Or Trust

To do this, I recommend the philosophy of and strategy defined in the book "The One Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results" by Gary Keller with Jay Papasan.
