Join me and my guests as we share our stories, thoughts and feelings about how mind and body wellness has become an important part of our lives. Our stories will be insightful, mostly personal, with the occasional humour thrown in.
We hope what people hear and take away from these stories will help them overcome some of the challenges they face and create a better understanding of the world around us, because what may seem fine on the outside - may not be what's happening on the inside.

Welcome To My World
Welcome To My World
S2 Episode 10 - Lisa Alentejano Gaetz
30 NOV 2022 · It is a real pleasure to have Lisa on as my guest today.
Lisa is an inspirational speaker, author, yoga teacher and accountability coach. She has led a rewarding and successful career in the Financial Industry for over 28 years.
When Lisa was faced with a life changing event, she knew she was destined for
something much larger. She used that event to fuel her passion to empower others
to love themselves and inspire change in their own life by shifting their perspectives
on how they connected with their inner and outer being, even during chaos and
uncertainty.
S2 Episode 9 - Gina Best
9 JUN 2022 · Gina Best is my guest on this episode. Gina has had more life changing events in her life than most people will ever experience.
On the outside, Gina appeared to have it all. However that wasn’t the case. As she says “Fake it till you make it”. Being busy was her religion. It is how she coped with the life events and how she kept moving forward without dealing with the grief and the losses from her past. It ‘s an amazing story of the events in her life and how she has found a way to cope and how she was able to find a better way to deal with life and her mental health.
It is a very personal and emotional story.
Please have a listen and share it with your friends and family.
S2 Episode 8 - Tanya Leopold
26 APR 2022 · This is a unique podcast as Tanya Leopold is my first guest where we have included video along with audio. Links for both audio/ video or just audio are below.
In this episode, my guest Tanya and I discuss “What does mental health look like?”.
We often have a quick response to the question..”How are you doin?” with an answer of “I’m fine”. But are you? Are you prepared to be truthful with your answer if you are not fine and is the person asking the question prepared for your answer if you are not fine?
What does it look like to not be OK and is it really OK not to be OK?
Mental struggles are not always simple to explain and in some cases, even harder to understand.
We all have well meaning intentions but perhaps by opening up more conversations about mental health, we can all become more aware and more understanding when a person does answer the question of “How are you doing?” with “Actually, I’m not doing well today”
Please have a listen and share it amongst your friends and family.
S2 Episode 7 Pt. 2 - Livian Smith
28 JAN 2022 · (Part 2/2) In this episode, my guest shares with us her very personal and emotional story about her life. For some people, there are occasional setbacks, life events, and challenges thrown at them beyond their control. However with my guest, all of those kept happening one after the other.
It is an amazing life journey to listen to and what is even more inspiring is that Livian has succeeded in life in the areas that are most important to her.
Maybe it is an overused statement but “what doesn't kill us makes us stronger” could certainly be a warranted statement in this story.
We have split the conversation into two parts. Please listen to both of them and please share with friends and family.

S2 Episode 6 - Todd Tourond
21 DEC 2021 · My guest for this episode is a great friend of mine. Todd and I have known each other since high school and quickly developed a friendship that has lasted all of these years.
After listening to previous Welcome to My World podcasts, Todd reached out to me as he wanted to share his story about his battle and recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. His hope, as is ours, is that by telling his story he will be able to help others in their own lives.
S2 Episode 5 - Brad Robinson
2 DEC 2021 · Sometimes the career we choose can be very rewarding. However, it can also have lasting effects on us that could change the direction of our lives. We may not fully be aware of the changes that are happening to us as we struggle with some of society's beliefs that we need to have a tough attitude and just suck it up.
My guest Brad, was in firefighting for 18 years and during his time as a career firefighter he experienced repeated and untreated exposure to trauma. This exposure led to Brad’s diagnosis of PTSD.
Brad will openly share with us his amazing story of the depths of his PTSD and his courageous and truly inspiring journey on the path to healing. We don't need to know what or why something is wrong with us to ask for help. It comes from within us.
Please have a listen and please share it.
S2 Episode 4 - Dan Oliver

S2 Episode 3 - Catherine Worthy
29 OCT 2021 · It is not very often we take advantage of the opportunity to reflect back on our lives and truly decide what is important to us. Especially in this modern world where most people live to work instead of working to live. Catherine and her wife, Catherine embraced that opportunity and made the bold decision to sell their home, buy an RV, hit the road, and travel around North America for a year. Visiting some great places, meeting some interesting people, and reflecting upon what is really important and what will truly make them happy in their lives.
S2 Episode 2 - Brandon Grant
6 OCT 2021 · When you think about health and wellness, a chiropractor isn’t someone that would quickly come to mind. I know it didn’t for me.
I had been dealing with daily headaches for over a year and a half after my accident. With each headache, I became more physically and emotionally drained.
From a conversation with a friend, a suggestion was made that I should go see his chiropractor who specializes in sports related injuries and concussions. Within 6 sessions, my headaches went from daily to occasionally and eventually, from more treatments, became few and far between.
It wasn’t the bone cracking you would expect. The approach is completely different. It truly made me understand and appreciate the term..healthy body, healthy mind.
