Welcome! This show is about the most important questions in life. As Gandalf put it, "all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." So what do we do? Well, I don't claim to have all the answers, but this is a great place to stop and think about big questions. But not just that, we have movie reviews, food reviews.. the works, guys. You'll love it.
As for worldviews, we all have a worldview whether we think it is based on anything real or not. Even Nietzsche, who believed there are no natural standards of morality, was adamant that life cannot be lived without a worldview. The question is, how well aware are we of the standards by which we live our lives? Please join us no matter what your worldview may be. My goal is primarily this: let's all learn not to live our lives on auto-pilot; or as Socrates says, "the unexamined life is not worth living." Grab your favorite drink, and come philosophize with me for a while.

4 FEB 2022 · What is natural law? How do we get true justice? This is an overview of what Plato, Aristotle, and Aquinas teach us about these questions. In an age where natural law is ignored and not believed, this is some basic knowledge that we need to equip ourselves with.

13 JAN 2022 · Where do human rights come from, and what exactly are they? What did FDR say about this and how different was it from the Founding Fathers? The question of human rights is of tremendous importance, and we need to give it the Worldview Bro treatment.

6 JAN 2022 · Elsa's "Let it go" teaches a lesson in the Third Type of Freedom: freedom by self-creation. I unpack it here, and compare it to the first two types that we've already discussed with the help of Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment and a very different Disney movie: Pinnochio. This comparison helps us to understand our own worldview and the the worldview of our society.
16 DEC 2021 · First a conversation about the meaning of Christmas and the incarnation, and then Sal joins me to share his favorite Christmas movies and traditions. I also share a Christmas poem by J.R.R Tolkien
9 DEC 2021 · This is the third video in the Freedom Series. Paleo-Cons like Robert Bork and Allan Bloom believe that America has a rotten foundation. Their claim is that the ideas of freedom and equality used by Locke and the Founding Fathers have led to dismantling of our civilization. I examine their claim, and make the case for the red-white and blue. Ultimately, the critics of Locke and the Founders don't understand that there are two different strains in the enlightenment. They're barking up the wrong tree.
2 DEC 2021 · This is the second video on the freedom series. Freedom by way of virtue is a positive kind of freedom; it's tied to the fulfillment of human beings. On today's show we learn about this freedom from Aristotle and Plato. Ultimately, the goal is to live in a city for mankind and not in a city of pigs, as Plato describes.
Stay until the end for "Stuff I like"
24 NOV 2021 · This is the first of a 3 part series on the question of freedom. There are 3 visions of freedom that correspond to 3 different political visions. In this episode we analyze the freedom of the libertarians, the freedom of John Locke and the founding fathers. What are the merits and limitations of this vision?
