30 MAY 2018 · The Street Light Series welcomes home bay area legend, D-Lo (a.k.a Mr. No Hoe) after spending 15 months in jail. D-Lo tells Shay Diddy and DJ Black Marc he can't afford to spend any more of his life in jail. "I got out really on my sh**. I'm really about to turn back up right now," he says.
D-Lo did exactly that. He wasted no time jumping back into the music scene after his release. He's spent the past several months writing, filming music videos and working on an album he plans to drop in June, 2018.
D-Lo revealed EXCLUSIVELY to KMEL that the album will be named after his daughter, Asiyah. "This one's for her," he says about the 10-year-old.
When asked about old projects, D-Lo reveals he never expected "No Hoe" to become as big as it did. D-Lo told the Street Light Series he never knew he was going to become a rapper, "I was never ever the ni*** that rapped when he was 11 or 10," he says.
After creating "No Hoe", D-Lo put the track on his MySpace but went to jail before it blew up. When he got out the success of the song "overwhelmed" him, he says.
Surprisingly, D-Lo revealed he dislikes performing the track today. "I love the song but I don't like the song because it's so old and I always got to do it," he says.
D-Lo went on to talk about his favorite up-and-coming Bay Area Artists, shouting out rappers like Lil Yee and Yatta. He also reveals he's crushin on Bay Area bae, Kehlani.... Listen to the full interview to find out more:
