22 OCT 2024 · Just a podcast talking about closing out the residential Solar aspect of the business and potentially even looking at working under another business and learning a different industry or a different skill set and just doing some side project stuff for Sales launch for fun like building an AI chat and Sales support pot and Solar sales course just to train this child chat so I can build a CRM which can automate it and just doing it for fun just to see how much you can automate the process including SMS Emails and maybe even Robo calls.

The team is busy, with Jerry handling operations and Rory excelling in the field despite some personal uncertainties. To ensure smooth logistics, we're using tools like Descript for audio feedback on sales pitches.

Regular profit and loss statements, thanks to Maria in accounting, have been crucial in revealing the true financial state, preventing my optimism from clouding reality.
Maria’s bookkeeping, payroll, and training for Jerry are invaluable, despite the $1,500 monthly cost. This investment provides accurate insights, keeping me grounded.
I also share a useful strategy for door-to-door sales: having the team record their daily interactions. Using Descript for audio editing, we streamline feedback sessions, improving performance efficiently.

9 JUL 2024 · In this week's episode, I dive into the rollercoaster ride of running a business, starting with a shocking start to the week. I hired Jamie, who signed a contract a month ago, only to find out he was still job hunting and left me hanging. With recruiting halted and plans disrupted, I had to pivot quickly.
Monday brought another blow when Rory, my key field employee, expressed doubts about staying, reducing his commitment from 95% to 90% and extending his planned leave. With bad weather and housing challenges in Perth, his outlook soured. However, he bounced back strong, breaking his performance record and giving me hope.
Despite these setbacks, logistics have been tough, especially without reliable public transport. Fortunately, a close friend offered to help with transportation, easing the burden and allowing me to focus on growth.
Reflecting on the situation, I considered shifting to the American solar market, drawn by its potential and low saturation. But I realised the importance of a stable foundation here before expanding.
Thankfully, Jerry’s excellent performance in operations has been a bright spot. I contemplated scaling down to a leaner model but decided to stay the course. Rory's continued success and my own sales are promising signs.
