1 JUL 2024 · Dan Flanigan holds a Ph.D. in History from Rice University and J.D. from the University of Houston. He taught Jurisprudence at the University of Houston and American Legal History at the University of Virginia. His first published book was his Ph.D. dissertation, The Criminal Law of Slavery and Freedom, 18001868.
He moved on from academia to serve the civil rights cause as a school desegregation lawyer, followed by a long career as a finance attorney in private law practice. Dan became a name partner in the Polsinelli law firm in Kansas City, created its Financial Services practice, chaired its Real Estate & Financial Services Department for two decades, and established the firm’s New York City office and served as its managing partner until October 2022.
In addition to publishing five books since 2019, he has also written stage plays including Secrets (based on the life of Eleanor Marx) and Moondog’s Progress (based on the life of Alan Freed). His novella, Dewdrops, was originally written for the stage and enjoyed a full-cast staged reading at the Theatre of the Open Eye in New York.
Its director described the play as a “powerful” work about “addiction in America—addiction to drugs, alcohol, sex, danger, power, and to finding ‘The Answer,’ with characters that are “well drawn, real, and actors love to portray them.” He has written a feature film screenplay of Mink Eyes and a pilot for a TV series called O’Keefe.
He serves on the Board of Directors of Childhood USA, the U.S. arm of the World Childhood Foundation, established by Queen Silvia of Sweden, working to end child sexual abuse and exploitation everywhere. He divides his time among Kansas City, New York City, and Los Angeles.

28 JUN 2024 · Kate Risse was born in Boston and spent summers at her grandparents’ beach house along a central stretch of the Florida Panhandle. She remembers expansive rolling white dunes covered with saw grass and sea oats, wild rosemary, and shorebird nests, much of which have since been paved with asphalt. While weather along this coast has always been unpredictable, category 5 Hurricane Michael, making landfall in 2018, obliterated neighbors’ houses and animal habitats on the barrier island where Kate spends time with her family, affording a glimpse of what humanity and all living things are up against as the climate changes, and fueling this what if narrative. Kate earned a Ph.D. in Hispanic studies from Boston College. She teaches Spanish language and culture at Tufts University, including a course on climate justice. She has published both short fiction and articles on Spanish history. She lives in Brookline, Massachusetts, with her family.

LEXI UNDERWOOD is an actress, singer, filmmaker, and changemaker. She is best known for her roles in LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE, THE FIRST LADY, and SNEAKERELLA. In 2018 she founded her production company, Ultimate Dreamer Productions, and made her directorial debut with the docu-short, WE THE VOICES OF GEN-Z. 29 MAY 2024 · Multi award-winning filmmaker and actor Harley Wallen has starred in over 40 feature films and TV shows with legendary stars such as Tom Sizemore, Tara Reid and John Savage among many others.
He started his journey as a Martial Artist early with Judo at age 7 and is now a 5th degree black belt. Harley also spent time learning other arts (Jiu-Jitsu, Tae Kwon - Do black-belts as well) and Mixed Martial Arts. After retiring from professional MMA in 2015 he still stays active as the color commentator for Warrior Xtreme Combat. His other love at a young age was dance as he was an outstanding break dancer in his teen years.
His sheer talent and skill is what landed him his first opportunity in acting as a dancer at the syndicated Swedish TV cult hit 'Solstollarna'! Soon after, he realized he was bitten by the acting bug. Harley then moved from Sweden to the United States to boldly pursue his dreams. After a short stint these plans got sidetracked by business opportunities as Harley climbed various career ladders.

23 MAY 2024 · Angela van Breemen is delighted to have completed her first novel, Past Life's Revenge, a crime thriller with a twist of spiritualism. She is an avid writer of poetry, belongs to the Wordsmiths Writers' Group based out of New Tecumseth, Ontario and is a member of the Crime Writers of Canada and the South Simcoe Arts Council.
Angela is a Soprano Soloist. A firm believer in giving back to the community, she often sings for different charitable organizations. Music and poetry have been an integral part of her life, and in early 2024 she launched her debut album, In The Breeze. Celtic in nature, it includes three original pieces of music, based on her poetry.
Angela volunteers for Procyon Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre, a group dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and safe release of orphaned and injured Ontario wildlife.

He started his professional career covering crime from five in the afternoon to two in the morning for the famed City News Bureau of Chicago. Within a year, he moved to reporting national news for the Associated Press and then to making television documentaries for the King Broadcasting Co. stations in Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington.
