Blackpool New York started out as a small non-profit to raise money for projects that focus on collective, public, or social benefit. At Blackpool we believe that The Universe has your back. Always. We now find ourselves at a unique time in history where the world is becoming smaller and smaller. People now have incredible access to each other. We are optimistic on humanity and bringing people together through the medium of their own story.
This podcast is going to focus on the interconnectedness of life. We are going to talk about shared experiences, highlight commonalities, and breathe some levity into the sheer absurdity of this experience we are sharing. Riding a meat covered skeleton. On a rock. Hurtling around the sun at 67,000 miles per hour.
Once a month we are going to bring on an outstanding human with a story to tell. So plug your ears into the mycelium, fill your lungs with ether, and tune your heart into the collective voice.
Remember people: DRINK GOOD COFFEE, LISTEN TO GOOD MUSIC, BE KIND TO THE OTHER HUMANS!

27 MAR 2023 · Episode #5: Paruresis
Mental Health. Anxiety. Trauma. Sometimes things just don’t go the way we’ve planned. For some, the events of the past manifest themselves in very life challenging ways. Paruresis, or Shy Bladder Syndrome can be a very uncomfortable way to go through life. However, there are men out there like Daniel Rocker who are truly being of service to those who suffer from this psychosomatic disorder.
This conversation with Daniel is a little more clinical that what I normally get into however, Dan is a soulful guy and his passion for helping others heal is inspiring. Daniel Rocker is a psychotherapist in private practice in New York City, working with individuals, couples and groups. Dan graduated with a BA from Wesleyan University, and a MSW from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work. He is a graduate of Ackerman’s Clinical Externship program. Prior to his career as therapist, Dan worked as a trader at Jefferies and Company, and as the head of trading for investment firms Rocker Partners and Zimmer Partners. Dan has been an active volunteer in the Doula to Accompany and Comfort Program, providing visits to palliative care patients, since 2004. He is the Vice-President and Co-Director of the clinical arm of the International Paruresis Association, an organization that provides advocacy and treatment for individuals who suffer with the social anxiety disorder of shy bladder.

29 SEP 2022 · For the 4th episode of the Blackpool NY podcast host, Greg Wachsteter sat down with an old friend of his, Andrea Ludlow.
Andrea turned her childhood trauma into Pee Wee Herman. Yes literally. She has survived a bunch of challenging events, like the death of her best friend, the death of her father, and being diagnosed with breast cancer all of which has never unseated her ability to move forward with her life. Andrea started a School, runs a cookie business, is a dog whisperer, excellent with children, and has the most infectious laugh of anyone I have ever met. She is truly living under the guise of authenticity over acceptance.
That might be the theme of the show for episode #4 … Being true to your own nature regardless of what anyone else thinks… especially yourself. Authenticity over acceptance. And Unconditional Self Love.
Thank you listening! Remember people, drink good coffee, listen to good music, and be kind to the other humans.

9 MAY 2022 · For our 3rd episode of the Blackpool NY Podcast, Host Greg Wachsteter had the pleasure of sitting down with 3 stellar young humans navigating life with poise and grace. Cosmo Hamada, Cassius Luber, and Miles Wachsteter. All 3 on the cusp of their next stage in life. They share their truths, thoughts on the future, and how important it is to find yourself no matter where you are in your journey. These guys spoke straight from the heart. Their vulnerability, strength and insight is both optimistic and exciting.
Doing this episode with some humans in their late teens reiterated something Greg often thinks about; You can learn something from anyone, at any age, from anywhere. Carpe Diem boys. Carpe Diem. Make your lives extraordinary.
Thank you for listening!
