    What do you get when two men leave the big city, come together through a spiritual connection, and move to a mountaintop meditative retreat center in Western Massachusetts?

    Spirit Fire Radio! A radio show about practical mindfulness and the myriad of ways that you can incorporate the benefits of meditation into the fullness of your life.

    We are Tim Darter and Steve Kramer. We run an educational non-profit named Spirit Fire, and we’re taking its mission to the airwaves. Our mission is simple: to cultivate spirituality and educate people on the importance of consciousness in their everyday lives. One of the ways we do this is through Spirit Fire's own 14-step meditation practice, The Practice of Living Awareness. It is a modern Vipassana meditation technique designed for beginners and for those wishing to deepen an existing practice. Vipassana means ‘to see things as they really are.’ Through meditation, one learns to observe the mind as it really is and create a very unique relationship with it. There is a common misconception that meditation is about ‘checking-out.’ Not at all, it is about presence. Meditation can offer us insight into the fullest version of ourselves, and techniques to bring that version to the forefront of all that we do. A world full of awesomely conscious and aware individuals living their lives full-on… we like it!

    Spirituality meets practicality on this radio show as we take The Practice of Living Awareness off of the meditation cushion. Every week we explore the energy of each particular step of the practice, and invite guests to the show who embody the core lesson of that step in their every day through their passions, careers, and motivations. Together, we’ll discover how to add the mechanics of meditation into the day and find the amazing moments within life's routines that connect us to a vibrant world that often passes us by.
