Born into God's Family
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.” (1 John 3:1)
One of the most motivating truths of the Bible is the doctrine that we become sons of God when we are born again through faith in Christ. God then deals with us as a father does with his beloved children. We should therefore respond as obedient children who love their father.
The little epistle of 1 John has many references to this relationship and our consequent responsibilities. In the first place, “ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him” (2:29). “Whosoever is born of God doth not [habitually] commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God” (3:9).
Another attribute of our sonship is brotherly love: “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him” (5:1). “Every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God” (4:7). Furthermore, each child of God should have a victorious faith. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (5:4).
All who are truly sons of God will never lose that holy relationship. “He that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not” (5:18). This is because of the fact that “greater is he that is in [us], than he that is in the world” (4:4).
There are many such references in the Bible. All stress that we should reflect the character of the Father in our lives as His children. The glorious, ultimate promise is this: “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (3:2). Psalm 61
Life has the ability to quickly change
Where our help can come from
Time and circumstance can happen to every man
Hear my cry oh Lord
When we try and shoulder the load alone ... we feel the distance
The storm reminds us how much we need Him
Incredible victory can rise from the storm
Get growth in those moments, God increases
Reminds you can not do it on your own
God is a stronghold, assurance when in trouble
Lead me to the rock
Davis recognized that he needed God
Hear my cry , lead me to the rock
Get me to You before you fix my problem
We need a closeness to you, get rid of this distance , hear my cry
He will never leave you, never left you, get close to you
Like a child , run to you, close to you
Let me get close to you, be with me, that is what matters
Fix the distance first, attend unto my prayer, close to you
A God that is capable, fix the gap,
Just hold me, comfort me, feel the connection between son and father
David acknowledges that he needs God, trusts that he is his strong tower, rock of safety
Close the distance, the distance is a greater problem than the issue
Lead me to the place where the confidence comes back
You can loose confidence, boldness, a place of intimidation.
Just get to your quiet place , into His presence, will get confidence back, boldness back.
There isn't a thing that God can't take you through
Take me to the rock, that is where my help is, my strength is, fortress, shield, banner
The Rock will follow you, will not let you go
We forget that the Rock is there, some time we just have to stop , there is a strength in reserve for you, if you would just stop long enough
There is times we need to get up, and say , God your strength is with me , He can lift you, lift you up, carry you
Lead me to you, to the place,
Sometimes you have to get the flesh in subjection of the spirit
2nd Chronicles 20:12
Get our eyes on the Lord
Oh God hear our cry, hear our prayer
God has a plan for our lives
Lead me to the Rock
Restore right relationship God
A passion for the presence
With a passion you don't have to get warmed up no more
The goodness and the faithfulness of God
Lead me to the Rock
Let it get a hold on me
The word is full of encouragement
Get in the word, close the gap
Encourage one another in faith
Invite to let God be your refuge, make everything brand new
Psalm 61:8
Turn our heart to Him
So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
Lead me to the Rock
All my life you have been faithful
So so good
Every breath that I am able
I can see the goodness of God

What must I do to inherit eternal life ?
Love God with all your ...
Neighbour I Love You
And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Who is my neighbour? The Good Samaritan story Luke 10:30
The people outside these 4 walls, these are the people left half dead, left alone
Priest and Levites , chose cleanliness, to remain pure, over helping the half dead man, over loving their neighbour
We need to take a few extra seconds, to take a few moments and not have a priest or Levite like attitude , and to just live our neighbour and share the love of Jesus
Those devises that are to improve communications have pulled us apart from one another
We should be using to share the good news, looking to the fields that are ripe and ready
Surrender all to God
Lift up and you will begin to see
Luke 10:37
Go and do likewise.
You are my neighbour, because you are my neighbour, I love you
You are valuable, You are loved by God
Embrace of Jesus tugging on your heart, he is working on you
May God give us a true love for our neighbour no matter what
Show the love of Jesus
Jesus loves you my friend, my neighbour
Let me tell you about my Jesus
1 Corinthians 13:1
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

1:7 Proverbs
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge:
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Consider the Fear of the Lord is the beginning point

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD,
and find the knowledge of God.
2:3-5
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge,

If thou seekest her as silver,

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD,
and find the knowledge of God.
Prospecting is hard work, goal to it, if you want to know God then you have to put the work into it
Like a married couple , put the work into it, do what you have to do to get the relationship
Put the work in to know that person
Over the years put the work in continuously to know your mate, as we all grow and change over time
Intimacy, inner most secrets , two parties working together to get to know each other better
Develop a deeper relationship
139 Psalm 1-4
O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising,
thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down,
and art acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word in my tongue,
but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
David gives insight on putting in the work to know him
Genesis 4:1

God knew David, put in the work to know , an intimate relationship, innermost secrets that are known
The relationship he desires from us, he wants to have relationship with us
Desires deep closeness in relationship with us
Life changes a person, God will examine the heart as he desires to know the person
Ephesians 3:18-19
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
God has done his work, he examines
Exodus 33:12-13
And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
God is calling us to get to know Him
We have to put in the effort
Matthew 7:22-23
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in
thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Psalms 27:8-9
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in
thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
God we need to know you the way you know me
Do you and do I do we fear the Lord so we know him the way he knows us ?
