21 JUN 2024 · As we look back at history, we should ask "What has God been doing and why?"  We should also ask "Where is it all heading?"  According to Hinduism, we're not going anywhere; history is circular with different reincarnations based on your behavior.  However, the Bible teaches that history is linear.  God has a grand plan and glorious purposes for His creation and His people.  The biblical story is moving from creation to new creation.  When this age come to an end God will bring about a new heaven and new earth where His people will dwell with Him for eternity!

21 JUN 2024 · God made covenant promises to Abraham that He would save His people and bless the nations through the Messiah.  God's plans were constantly under attack from enemies without and corruption within.  Even when God sent His Son, Jesus, the plans and promises of God seemed to fail.  However, God fulfilled His covenant promises through the death and resurrection of Jesus!

21 JUN 2024 · What is God's purpose for creating and saving human beings?  Titus 2 says that it is "to purify for himself a people for his own possession."  God’s plan is to have a people who walk with Him. To accomplish that goal, God makes a covenant with Abraham.  God makes an oath that He will bless Abraham and through him bless the nations.  Jesus is the fulfillment of that covenant.  

21 JUN 2024 · Genesis 11 tells the story of the tower of Babel.  Man attempted to reach God or become a god through making a great city and tall tower.  How did God respond?  He confused their language.  Why?  What did this have to do with God's overarching plan for saving His people? 7 C's of History

29 APR 2024 · Genesis 6 through 9 tells the story of a great flood.  We typically refer to it as "Noah's ark" and it is often used as a children's story.  However, it is actually one of the most disturbing stories in the Bible.  It is a story of God's judgment against mankind for their sin.  Almost the entire human race is wiped out.  It is also a story of salvation by grace: God saves Noah and his family.  What do we learn about God and how He views and responds to sin?  What does this tell us about the judgment that is coming?  How can we be saved from God's judgment?

22 APR 2024 · What is a worldview?  It is how we view and understand the world around us; how we live our lives in light of our worldview.  It is how we answer the big questions about God, humanity, life, death: Why is there evil in the world?  Suffering?  Death?  What is our biggest problem and what is the solution?  Genesis 3 helps us answer these important questions.  God reveals the nature of sin in relation to Him.  He reveals Himself as the righteous Judge who deals with those who sin against Him.  He also displays His mercy and gives mankind hope for salvation.

15 APR 2024 · Psalm 11:3 (ESV) says “if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” The foundations of our society are being destroyed, what can we do? The Psalmist takes refuge in God. We need to see the world from God’s perspective and seek to live by God’s commands and principles.  We’re looking at the 7 C’s of history: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Covenant, Cross, Consummation. As we continue to look at creation, we learn about the unique place of mankind in God's plan and how God wants us to live.
