We Brits have a unique relationship with our pubs. Don’t get me wrong, we’re hardly the only people in the world to have bars. To us, though, “the local” is woven into our history and folklore. When you cross the threshold of the village tavern or the old coaching inn, you literally tread in the footsteps of people who lived and died centuries before you took your first breath. The walls have been privy to thousands of tall tales and secret conversations. With luck, these places will outlast us, as they did those who came before. No wonder “the local” is the perfect breeding ground for a good ghost story.
Join us to listen to a bit of history about our favourite boozers, and the ghost stories that surround them. Terry does all the hard work of researching, while Matt and Esther listen and take this piss mostly.
