LadyAv8rBeth was founded by Captain Beth Powell.

The Our Journey Log Podcast is hosted by Captain Dennis James, an eloquent, captivating, and engaging speaker.

Raised in Northern California, Dennis caught the aviation bug early, thanks to his family's proximity to the Sacramento Executive Airport, and his mentors who would take him and his brother to air shows at the former Mather Air Force Base.

Dennis served in the United States Marine Corps from 1981 to 1988, flying the RF-4, the tactical reconnaissance version of the iconic Phantom. Since late 1988, Dennis has been a pilot at American Airlines, retiring in 2024 as a 787 Dreamliner captain.

Captain James also holds lifetime memberships in OBAP, the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, NGPA, National Gay Pilots Association, and WAI, Women in Aviation International, and is the perfect captain to guide you through this dynamic exploration of the world of aviation.
