11 MAR 2021 · UCSF Professors Elizabeth Blackburn & Elissa Epel talked about how Stress affects our bodies by shortening the telomere lengths. They discussed what we can do to help reduce stress, and reverse telomere shortening; their best-selling book The Telomere Effect is a must-read about Healthy Ageing!

1 MAY 2020 · Dr. Barry Kerzin gave KZSU this interview from Dharmsala in April 2020 to share HH The Dalai Lama's message of using Compassion to help deal with the 2020 pandemic. Dr. Kerzin shared his advice on how to cope in these trying times and discussed some of the Compassion programs that his Altruism in Medicine Institute teaches around the world to physicians, nurses, teachers as well as the police force in Pittsburgh, PA, and other groups.
9 SEP 2017 · Hawai'i County Mayor, Harry Kim, talked to KZSU about his idea to designate Mauna Kea as a world heritage center that will encourage people to learn about Mauna Kea’s history and its unique place in the world. Mauna Kea, or White Mountain, is the tallest mountain in the world, from the ocean floor. Because of its high altitude, thin and clean air, and its isolation from urban development, the summit of Mauna Kea is an ideal place for astronomical research. Some of the world's most powerful telescopes and observatories, including the twin Keck telescopes are on Mauna Kea.
Because Mauna Kea is sacred to the people of Hawaii, KZSU is helping bring Mayor Kim’s vision of a Mauna Kea world heritage center to many people in Silicon Valley who travel to Hawaii and who might like to learn more about Mauna Kea and help in promoting the vision of the Mauna Kea World Park.

30 JUL 2017 · KZSU interviewed Stanford Professor Theodore Leng about the clinical trials that he is leading to test if stem cells can cure the dry form of Macular Degeneration, which is one of the leading causes of blindness in the U.S. These clinical trials are in their second year, and are on-going at Stanford's Byers Eye Institute.
