    The imposing sculpture is made from the black earth of the Westerwald, a material that makes many of his sculptures unique and unmistakable. The iron details that emerge from the surface give the work an additional narrative force. They are symbols of travel, reminders of the passing of time, where the life of humanity is always present “to create a great austere poetry”. Since the 1980s, the beginning of his experience with ceramic sculpture, Paladino has chosen a stylistic style that is as primitive as it is modern, with a clear Etruscan, but above all Mediterranean, derivation.
