22 APR 2023 · Over 100 community members gathered at the International School Ho Chi Minh City to register, pick up supplies and pour out on the streets to clean up the local community for Earth Day 2023. This event was in collaboration with ISHCMC School Leaders and Re-Think Plastic Vietnam. I was able to pull in Patricia, General Manager of over 92 Starbucks locations across 6 cities in Vietnam to talk about buisness models that support 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Alongside Patricia, our Eco-School leaders share their thoughts on next steps for a healthier planet. In this episode you will hear both, youth voice and corportate leadership, on how mental models need to shift behaviours for a sustainable planet.
28 SEP 2022 · Grand prize winner Dorothy Tran describes her global social impact journey in the prestigious Earth Prize competition. The Earth Prize is an environment sustainability competition open to teenage students everywhere. This competition engages teenagers in innovation, science, sustainability and develops an entrepreneurial mindset in young change makers. Every participant in The Earth Prize engages with original bespoke materials and receives personalized mentorship. They also have the opportunity to interact with world-renowned Ambassadors and showcase their solutions to a global audience. Dorothy shares how her team designed a biodegradable feminine hygiene pad out of dragon fruit peel, won the $100,000 grand prize and shares updates on how the funds are currently being direct for patent protection, further R&D and manufacturing. You will be inspired to go on your own change maker journey after listening to this episode.
17 MAR 2022 · In this episode, you will hear from two G12 students discuss SDG#15 Life on Land and how their highschool research led them to important conclusions to protect and conserve our planet. You will learn how fresh water pollution in the form of DDT, contributes to bio-accumulation and ends up in our food chain, and how this chemical was introduced as a solution to malaria and now is intensifying climate change due to its' toxicity. In contrast, you will also hear from another senior student who researched agriculture and innovations in the food industry. He looked at GMO's and how genetic improvements can influence factors and bring positive solutions to the food industry and reduce land degradation. You won't want to miss this compelling conversation.
10 MAR 2022 · In this episode you will hear from G12 students talk about their highschool project on fashion up-cycling addressing UNSDG#12 Responsible Production & Consumption. The two girls worked together to raise awareness about fashion trends and how this leads to ambiguity in needs vs. wants. From awareness to authentic action, learn how these two students set up a community wardrobe in their school.
3 MAR 2022 · In this episode, you will hear from G12 student on UNSDG#8 Decent Work & Economic Growth. Our guest will touch on the topic of sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. She touches on the working class in the UK and how workers are exploited around the world. She shares some startling facts on working conditions, age of the workers, and pay below the poverty line. You will get insight on economic feedback loops and how high income countries exploit low income countries. This young lady also encourages you to become informed on supply chains and look for locally sourced products. You'll be looking in all your cupboards, closets and labels after this episode!
24 FEB 2022 · In this episode you will hear from two ISHCMC seniors who explored UNSDG#3 Good Health & Well-Being. One student approached the interview from the lens of her highschool project where she explored diet and exercise, and our other guest shared her experience as a model in today's world. The two extreme perspectives provided for a rich discussion about what the world expects from young women. Is it a fair expectation? That's up to you to decide and our guests share their unique perspectives. Interesting indeed!
19 JAN 2022 · In this episode you will hear from two ISHCMC seniors who finished 2nd place out of 12,000 participants in the COP26 Science Olympiad. Together they came up with clean energy solutions for Africa, flood and drought solutions in India, and in the final round of the competition, they submitted a sustainable development plan for a low income country in Southeast Asia.

28 OCT 2021 · In this episode grand prize winners, Tarek and Junsoo describe their CAS journey in a prestigious Global Youth Entrepreneurship (GYE) competition. Global Youth Entrepreneurship (GYE) Zone is an educational organization based in Silicon Valley, US. Through the authentic learning approach, GYE Zone aims to prepare high school students for college success and career preparation through extracurricular activities that instill in them an entrepreneurial mindset, 21st-century skills, and the grit for breaking barriers and embracing lifelong learning.
24 MAR 2021 · In this episode, you will hear two G12 students discuss SDG#11 Sustainable Cities and Communities. Our first guest is a dog lover and she explored animal rescue services in Vietnam. Our second speaker researched the global film industry and he explored the ambiguity between market demand and real facts presented in film. The two students come to the conversation from a lens of cultural identity and how varying factors can shape future societies.
