31 OCT 2024 · If you are reading this, you're fortunate. Millions of USA residents have vision loss, whether it's due to age, disease, accident, or congenital. For those in the Tri-State who lose their vision later in life, it can be especially difficult to transition to living without the ability to see. Every day, people with cataracts, glaucoma and other impairments come to the organization we're talking with today, for help, support, and real skills to live and thrive.
The Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually impaired makes it their mission to help everyone adjust, adapt and live with their condition, through programs paid for by donations and supporters.Â
Today I'm speaking with Aaron Bley, the Mission officer for C-A-B-V-I.Â

18 SEP 2024 · Cincinnati has become more and more popular in recent years, as Hollywood descends onto the Tri-State to film their movies in one of the most versatile areas of the country. You're just about 15 minutes away from farmland to the city, nationally-recognized architecture that provides that New York City look at a fraction of the production cost. Today's show is about the local, independent film makers who write, produce and promote their own projects, hoping to get their work in front of the curious public.Â
The Cindependent Film Festival is September 19-21 at Memorial Hall in downtown Cincinnati. University of Cincinnati graduate and founder Allyson West tells us how she created the festival in 2018, which has been awarded a 'Top 100 Best Reviewed Film Festival,' and the 'Best Filmmaker-Focused Festival in Cincinnati' by Cincinnati CityBeat. In this show she also addresses the finalist designation for Cincinnati as a possible future location for the Sundance Film Festival, one of the most important Film Festivals in the world, (competing against current home Park City, UT and contestant Boulder, CO.)Â Â
