Hi, we’re Bailey and Cara. Welcome to Iconic or Ironic. We’re 2 former superiority-complexed Zillennials who love to hear ourselves talk despite our respective monotone and speech impediment (or British accent). Tune in to hear our takes on the latest in pop culture and media, from astrology to our favorite blasts from the past (and by that we mean the early-aughts--don’t hate us). We have absolutely no authority on any of these topics besides being fans and stans, but we can spotlight what’s really iconic… or ironic.

18 FEB 2024 · From the buzz around the new Fantastic Four cast to our current reads, we're back with all the hot takes. We dive into the best Super Bowl ads, make Love Island predictions based on zodiac signs, and shine a spotlight on Usher's career. But most importantly, we discuss the maybe nonexistent love triangle between three of our favorite influencers (Brooke, Connor, and Kat—please tune in!).

4 SEP 2023 · Although we may be ready for fall, we know we can always escape to the islands, courtesy of Jimmy Buffett's discography. In this episode's Celebrity Spotlight, we celebrate the icon's life, music, and legacy. We also discuss the once-forgotten genre of the concert movie, the Disney Channel comeback on the music scene, and Bailey gives a MasterClass in concert etiquette.

1 AUG 2023 · Hi Barbie! This episode is devoted to the two cornerstones of girl summer: Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour—both of which we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing since our last recording💖 We talk all things Barbie—including Barbenheimer, the Barbie dolls as zodiac signs (and no, that b*tch Kelly doesn’t count), and our favorite Barbie animated movies—and debrief our unforgettable experience at the Eras tour, though our words will never do it justice🥲

4 JUN 2023 · It's a very special episode as we're celebrating ONE YEAR of Iconic or Ironic with a live, in-person episode🥳 We're also celebrating the start of Pride month by highlighting some iconic Pride brand campaigns we've seen🌈 In this episode, we give our ill-informed take on Succession, our very informed take on 2000s and 2010s sitcoms, and our now more informed take on Matty and Taylor criticism. Cheers to one year!🥂 Thanks for being here🥰

23 MAY 2023 · What would an episode of IoI be without 13+ mentions of TS? And yes, it is quite the time for annoying people as Matty Healy has now entered the chat. We love random years in the late 20th century prior to our existence. Cara guides you to your perfect summer romance read (as told by the stars, of course). And we discuss another queen—Miss Destany Hope (iykyk). If you comment what Taylor tat Bailey should get, maybe you'll hear from us in less than 6 weeks. Wouldn't that be iconic?
4 APR 2023 · In honor of lucky episode number 13, we debrief our Eras era as well as discuss some other characters in the Taylor Swift Cinematic Universe (Jack, Lana, etc.). We also cover the music that has been blessing our ears from some of our other fav queens—the icons of boygenius. We dive into the always relevant topic of hot animated characters as Scorpio Says plays matchmaker between them and the zodiac signs. And many other topics you didn't know were missing from your empty brain space until you listened to this episode✨
13 FEB 2023 · We know you were just as impatient for this episode as for Rihanna's first live performance in five years. But wait no more (for Iconic or Ironic—we won't attempt to predict Bad Girl Ri Ri's next return to the stage (well, we will but are undoubtedly wrong)). Also, enjoy our takes on the best past Super Bowl commercials, recap of the Grammys, predictions for the Oscars, and a look at the best new music coming this year (in our opinion). Oh, and our not-so-hot take on how sports fans are just societally acceptable fan girls. Enjoy :) 🏈Go Chiefs - Bailey🏈 (but um let's consider a rebrand?), & 🦅Fly, Eagles Fly - Cara🦅
