Join us on a journey through the fringes of celluloid society. The dark corners drowned out in a cacophony of naysayers and ironic laughter. Hidden in these forgotten realms are a group of cinematic pariah that deserve a better fate. They deserve to be salvaged from the pit of lazy punchlines and viewed as joyous expressions of artistic integrity and passion.
We here at Brain Melt HQ will guide you, potentially kicking and screaming, into the hypnagogic void as we explore the beauty in the outsider artistry of movie madness. We hope you enjoy the ride!

Welcome to Brain Melt Cinema! A House of Dreams trying to find our own Cannibal Orgy in a sea of Phantasmatapes.
Time to give Bleeding Skull their day in the sun. Although we focus on Folies Meurtrieres and Ogroff, we also expand the discussion the the broader release catalog of Bleeding Skull and show Joseph and Annie as much love as we can muster. As always, we match each Brain Melt selection with a canonical arthouse favorite as well, and would love to hear if you agree or disagree with our choice. Excited for anyone who catches us early and can start to follow along!

Welcome to Brain Melt Cinema! A diminuitive podcast looking to tackle the big world of outsider art. Episode five finds us shrinking our egos until we reach an embryonic state of consciousness and are ready to discuss two tiny masterpieces.
We debate fascism and metaphor in 1979's The Tin Drum by Volker Schlöndorff, and empathize with the monster in 1993's The Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb by Dave Borthwick. As always, we match each Brain Melt selection with a canonical arthouse favorite as well, and would love to hear if you agree or disagree with our choice. Excited for anyone who catches us early and can start to follow along!

Welcome to Brain Melt Cinema! A podcast where we try to make sense of the world that exists outside of any world that we know. The theme for episode four is paying tribute to the legendary Japanese special effects guru and surrealist, Yoshihiro Nishimura.
Although we watch several Nishimuro movies, we focus on Tokyo Gore Police (2008) and Helldriver (2010). Two movies that would make Salvador Dali proud. As always, we match each Brain Melt selection with a canonical arthouse favorite as well, and would love to hear if you agree or disagree with our choice. Excited for anyone who catches us early and can start to follow along!

Welcome to Brain Melt Cinema! A podcast where we look at cinema like architects that bridge the absurd with the arthouse and treat both with equal respect. The theme for episode three is two movies from the insanely fun genre of inanimate object horror.
Very helpful genre list from user creo318

We watch George Barry's Death Bed: The Bed That Eats (1977) and Michael Fischa's Death Spa (1988). A glimpse into poetic realism followed by a cross-genre possessed gym. We match each Brain Melt selection with a canonical arthouse favorite as well, and would love to hear if you agree or disagree with our choice. Excited for anyone who catches us early and can start to follow along!

Welcome to Brain Melt! A foster home for outsider art and the movies that make us fall in love with film. The theme for episode two is movies deep into an established franchise that come out of nowhere and blow us away.
We watch Producer Pierre David's Scanner Cop II: The Showdown and visionary director John Hyams' Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning. Listen as we dissect the wiggles, the scanpires, and JCVD in a sneaky surreliast masterpiece. We match each Brain Melt selection with a canonical arthouse favorite as well, and would love to hear if you agree or disagree with our choice. Excited for anyone who catches us early and can start to follow along!

Welcome! This podcast was birthed from a Letterboxd list that Bill created to map his journey through the wild and unpredictable world of outsider cinema. Movies that take big creative swings, on any budget, and often represent the true voice of an auteur who fought to keep their vision in place.
In episode one we watch Doris Wishman's Night to Dismember and J.P. Simon's Pieces. Two true auteurs to kick off Brain Melt, both highly influential in their own way. We match each Brain Melt selection with a canonical arthouse favorite as well, and would love to hear if you agree or disagree with our choice. Excited for anyone who catches us early and can start to follow along!
