Learning new vocabulary can sometimes feel like climbing a mountain, especially when English isn’t your first language. But don’t worry; today, we’ll discuss common struggles and share some effective strategies to overcome them.
First, let’s talk about why vocabulary is so crucial. Vocabulary is the building block of any language. Without a good grasp of vocabulary, it's hard to express ideas, understand others, and even enjoy reading. For young Indonesian students, this challenge can be even more pronounced due to differences in language structure and exposure.
One of the biggest hurdles is the sheer number of new words. English has a vast vocabulary, and it's impossible to learn every word. Many students feel overwhelmed. To tackle this, it's essential to focus on high-frequency words first. These are the words you'll encounter most often in daily conversations and texts.
