The large panel is one of the artist’s few ceramic works. A work in line with the Cretti and Cellotex of the 1970s, from which it inherits its title, it bears witness to Burri’s incessant research into materials: “the personal and almost obsessive care that Burri dedicated to the selection of blacks. The mysterious epiphany of the gold that prints itself almost tormented by a late Roman writing, will remain alive and fertile” (cit. A. Emiliani). The work, donated to the MIC by the artist in 1993, was made in the Bottega Gatti in Faenza.
