20 MAR 2021 · Dead Vinyl is a fantastic rock & roll band from Ft. Worth, TX. They will draw you in with their powerhouse sound on hits such as "Till the Cosmos Fall" and then comfort you with the soft melodic sounds of newer songs such as "Let Love Do".
I'd be lying if I told you that Dead Vinyl are not friends of mine. The truth is, I've known these guys a very long time and was ecstatic to finally get to record a podcast episode with them. Dead Vinyl consists of: Hayden Miller on Vocals, Zach Tucker on Bass, Parker Anderson on Drums, and Tyler Vela on Guitar. While we unfortunately did not get to record with Tyler on this episode Hayden, Parker, and Zach take us through the various iterations of their bands before forming Dead Vinyl, there are a lot of stories and even more laughs.
I was so fortunate to get to talk to these three guys a few months ago and I hope you enjoy it even half as much as we did.
While this episode is not part of a larger Volume we are releasing it under the moniker of "B-Sides" since it is a bonus track just for you.
Tune in to find out how the Dead Vinyl crew answers the questions essential to the essence of the podcast:
1. What does music mean to you?
2. How do you quantify success?
3. And what happens after the music fades?
Another B-Side episode and the 2 remaining Volume 5 episodes are right around the corner, but for now enjoy this bonus episode, we hope it empowers you to Let Love Do!

26 JAN 2021 · Described as poetic pop, Deza’s music is familiar yet fresh, sitting sonically at the crux of artists like Tove Lo & Jon Bellion. Combining elements of today's top-40 with an unheard emotional intensity, Deza is bringing a much needed dose of authentic storytelling back into the pop realm.
Her honest vulnerability recently caught the eye of hit songwriter, Emily Warren, who has credits with Dua Lipa, The Chainsmokers, Sigrid, Lennon Stella, and so many more.
Deza is now the first and only writer signed to Emily's brand new publishing company, Under Warrenty, alongside Prescription Songs. With this new signing, Deza has effortlessly catapulted herself into the upper echelon of today's hit writers. A champion of expressive lyricism and addictive melodies, Deza is one to keep your eye on.

6 NOV 2020 · Davy Baysinger, lead singer of Bleach, closes out the Volume today with his career retrospective. I was very excited for this episode because Bleach headlined the first ever concert I saw! Known for their infectious energy and ability to be the "fun band" Bleach sought to bridge the gap between Christianity and Rock & Roll.
Davy details how Bleach got their start, and how they've continued to stay relevant all these years later. It's the perfect end to this soul-searching Volume.

5 NOV 2020 · Owen Thomas and The Elms were unapologetically authentic in all aspects. From the moment they were making music The Elms were clear in that whether you were booking them for a club or a church they were going to perform the same. Take it or leave it. This was their truth, and it built them a loyal following.
Eventually deciding to part ways with the Christian music trappings they set out to forge their own path. What followed has been a legacy unlike most groups who leave the Christian Contemporary landscape.
Owen shares his soul with us about his time growing up, time being in The Elms, and how he has made it through some dark times with some clarity.

4 NOV 2020 · Sparrow Records took a chance on Adam LaClave and his group 'Earthsuit' when they signed them to a record deal. There was nothing that sounded like Earthsuit on the label and hardly anything else within all of Christian music which compared. Adam was ahead of his time, trying to make epic alternative music while struggling with his own views on Spirituality as well as his Sexual Orientation. What followed was a fascinating journey into self-discovery.

3 NOV 2020 · Jason Dunn was the original frontman for Hawk Nelson and knew his truth was found in making Punk Rock music. When Hawk Nelson decided to pivot away from making Punk Rock Jason knew he needed to go his own way. Now several years later Jason is thriving in a different way. Proud Father and Husband Jason is continuing to make music that is both true for him, and is a lasting legacy for his kiddo.

2 NOV 2020 · Hawk Nelson, Earthsuit, The Elms, Bleach.
For a vast majority of Millennials in America these bands were in their car's 6 disc CD changer at one point or another. Back before worship music was the standard go-to for Christian bands these groups sought to transcend the "Christian Music" trappings and become simply known for being a: Punk Band, Alternative Band, or simply a Rock & Roll band,

27 OCT 2020 · Bowling for Soup are one of the most iconic groups to come out of the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area, period.
Ok, I may be a bit biased but seriously, their fan base has been named one of the top 10 of all time! That doesn't just happen, but is it any wonder that a band as scrappy as Bowling for Soup would have anything other than loyal fans?
I was so fortunate to get to talk to Jaret Reddick about his experiences in music, how Bowling for Soup got started, and how a fortuitous playlist placement from a certain station manager changed the course of their life forever.
While this episode is not part of a larger Volume we are releasing it under the moniker of "B-Sides" since it is a bonus track just for you.
Tune in to find out how Jaret Reddick answers the questions essential to the essence of the podcast:

2. How do you quantify success?
3. And what happens after the music fades?
Volume 4 is right around the corner, but for now enjoy this bonus episode, we hope it takes you back to 1985!
