Rebecca F. Pittman is best known for her series of non-fiction books in the paranormal genre. As a paranormal historian, Rebecca researches the most-haunted venues in the world. Spending hours in museums, historical societies, newspaper archives and interviews, her books are considered the most comprehensive on each of her subjects. With the venue owner’s approval, she gains access to ancient photos, documents, maps and other data not seen in other books. Typically, she spends the night at these venues multiple times to absorb the atmosphere, walk their hallways, and garner some very amazing paranormal experiences of her own.
“I was always writing,” she stated. “Mysteries were my favorite genre, but after seeing Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting in 1970, I was hooked on ghosts.” The History and Haunting of the Stanley Hotel came first in 2010, followed shortly by The History and Haunting of the Myrtles Plantation in 2012. In 2015 the 2nd Edition for the Stanley Hotel book was released, as well as The History and Haunting of Lemp Mansion. The History and Haunting of the Myrtles Plantation, 2nd Edition was released in February, 2016.
The History and Haunting of Lizzie Borden hit the stores November, 2017. It fast became the most-acclaimed book in the Lizzie Borden genre for its insight and new evidence in the 125-year-old murder case. 828 pages document every facet of the case, including excerpts from the trials, never-before-seen photographs and layouts, and new theories as to what really happened on August 4, 1892. The theories are backed by trial testimony and new evidence. “We’ve been approached by TV production companies wanting to option some of the titles for docudramas. What fun that would be!” The History and Haunting of Salem is due out in the fall of 2018.
