As far as I am aware, the song has been covered by Linda Ronstadt, Seatrain, The Byrds, Gene Parsons, Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen, Phish, Bob Dylan, Phil Pritchett, Jackson Browne, Gregg Allman, Stein Ove Berg, Johan Berggren, Richard Shindell, The Black Crowes and Mandy Moore. The Linda Ronstadt version is featured in James Cameron's 'The Abyss' with several characters singing along as a submarine tows an underwater oil rig. Later another character destroys a radio that is playing the song. The Mandy Moore was used on the soundtrack for the 'This Is Us' TV series.

The song we are discussing is the re-recorded version (at a slower tempo) and which was featured on Little Feat's 1972 Sailin' Shoes album. This was an era when everyone was lookin', feelin', wantin' and willin'.
