Just finished the podcast and I have to say that I think you're confusing the Mormon church leader ship with prominent individuals at BYU. Recently one of the apostles of our church, Elder Holland, came under major fire from leader ship at the University because he reiterated that it's a religious school and that our doctrine on the family and gender will never change. We have a general conference every six months and Many of the talks you can look up online addressed these exact same issues and are getting lots of pushback from more liberal perspectives and people in the church but the leader ship of our church consistently preaches to be loving and excepting but that we absolutely believe God sent us with our gender and that our gender was the same before we even had a physical body. I feel like the changes in our views towards mental illness, gender, gay and lesbian haven't been good moves to help those who struggle that our church will never change their stance that marriage is between men and women and gender was preassigned and does not change depending on how we feel feel. BYU has been infiltrated with many liberal professors and students and there is a lot of pressure for the leader ship to change things but as Elder Holland made very clear, it is a religious school and follows our doctrine despite what professors are preaching about CERT and LGBTQ plus issues

Speaking as a Utah who tried to educate people about Spencer Cox I am a palled by almost everything he does to receive federal dollars for the most part. My fellow Utah's have been lazy in their research and just assume since he's a Mormon and Republican he will do the job right. He does not align with the values of our church in many instances and now that he's been governor for over a year I honestly don't talk to anybody who likes him so that poll was imteredting. As with Biden, we are biding our time here in Utah with Mitt Romney and Spencer Cox and I hope we have a more educated population during the next local election.
