show moreAmong the latter, programmers are particularly overrepresented in the people we treat in the clinic and train in the gym. Long hours, additional stressors, food for pay…all seem to contribute.
In an interesting study of programmers in Brazil, multiple measures of ergonomics such as desk and screen height, sitting time and position, mice, keyboard, and chair type were measured to look for a correlation to back pain. The only strong predictor was the amount of time of continuous sitting.
