I recently subscribed to your magazine out of a sense of loyalty as an Armenian American to Jewish Americans and Israeli. I was deeply disappointed, therefore, to hear John cast doubt upon the history of the Armenian genocide. I'm unsure how much history he has read, but I hope he has a chance to clarify what he understands about it.

As a long time Commentary subscriber, my criticism is not intended to be negative. I admire what you are doing. John has always tended to be loquacious and to dominate every discussion. Today however that tendency was overwhelming. He kept repeating himself and interrupting. The flow of verbal diarrhea became more than annoying. I did listen all the way through but I beg you, John to employ some self scrutiny. You seem at times to be aware, as when you refer to "taking crazy pills". You begin to sound like that guy on 86th and broadway ranting about the coming apocalypse. Like him you force us to pretend we think you make sense. How about letting one f the others lead a discussion? As an experiment how about Christine directing you other 3 and having time to put her perspective in the foreground?
