Anchored Souls Ministry, Presents:
When issues of life steal your focus
Scripture: Luke 8:43-48
Subject: Broken Focus
What has your focus more than God? Life throws us great and small challenges. Some of us are dealing with cancer, depression, diabetes, fear of the unknown, heart issues, shame, guilt, burdens were unwilling to let go of and we look for God through our broken focus. We try everything we can find to alleviate the burden, pain still no relief insight. We call people in hopes that talking it through with them will help release the pressure of what you’re feeling, yet no relief.
Jeremiah 33:3
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Yet we don’t call on the Lord, possibly because we want a person in the flesh to do what only God can, or it feels better talking it over with someone so you can feel you’re not alone. Which ever the case maybe God is the only one that’s actually moved by your infirmities, According to Hebrews 4:15
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Yet we go to the Lord last, we wait until the issue takes over every part of our life and once consumed then we cry out, demanding through our tears a manifestation of God in our situation, I know this is true because I’ve done this myself, there was a time in my life when the pressure of life burden me so heavily that I suffered first in silence, then I would talk it through with people who we’re were supposed to be prayer Warriors, yet they talked about me too others ( not everyone can carry your burden) hard place to be in when you can’t find relief from the pressure of life.
I had to learn that my only friend is God. I had to get to a place of desperation as we see here with the woman who spent all she had and got nothing in return, this was a significant place for this woman, as she was unclean and should not have been in the presence of the people, imagine the smell of constant bleeding, she could have been stoned yet she forsake all that to get healed, with all that against her faith made her desperate enough to be healed.
Are you at the point of being desperate enough to believe that you can be healed if you just touch Jesus?
I was desperate for relief from my situation that I began to pray more and more, at one point pleading with God to hear me, then I learned to remind God of his word! Then I gain a relief from the pressure of my situation, and realized that God changed me and how I looked at what I was feeling. This is the place I learned to walk differently; and see the truth of the situation,
Ephesians 5:15-16
15 Be very careful, then, how you live not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
