Today’s West Coast Cookbook & Speakeasy Podcast for our especially special Daily Special, Metro Shrimp & Grits Thursdays, is now available on the Spreaker Player!
Starting off in the Bistro Cafe, a federal judge has ruled the removal of a Confederate memorial from Arlington National Cemetery can continue.
Then, on the rest of the menu, a judge ordered a woman who set fire to Wyoming’s only full-service abortion clinic to pay nearly $300,000 in restitution, the full amount sought by prosecutors; more Americans applied for unemployment benefits last week, but not enough to raise concern about the labor market or broader economy; and, pro-Hamas rioters briefly blocked entrance roads to airports in New York and Los Angeles.
After the break, we move to the Chef’s Table where a Russian politician calling for peace in Ukraine lost her appeal to run for president against Vladimir Putin; and, China sanctioned a United States research company and two analysts who have reported extensively on human rights abuses committed against Uyghurs and other Muslim minority groups.
All that and more, on West Coast Cookbook & Speakeasy with Chef de Cuisine Justice Putnam.
