The “Off to the Races” session also featured speeches from Democrats Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley and Republican Ben Carson. The session began with Carson, followed by Clinton, O’Malley and Sanders.
Bush presented himself as someone who’s increased opportunities for African-Americans and said his intentions to overhaul education and dramatically increase economic growth would make things much better in the future.
Hillary Clinton  mocked Bush for his “right to rise” s logan. She didn’t mention him by name, but repeatedly suggested that his positions and record make it a hollow slogan. “I don’t think you can credibly say everyone has a right to rise” if they can’t afford health care, if the minimum wage is too low to live on, if college is unaffordable – and, she emphasized – if someone embraces policies that deny the right to vote.
“My views are a little bit different than others,” he said. “Given the enormous crises that this country faces today – crises that may be more severe than at any other time other than the Great Depression of the 1930s –  frankly it is too late for establishment policies, it is too late establishment politics.” Senate Sanders   Sun Sentinel
