I'm not a great radio disc jockey. I've never pretended to be. I just know what I wanted to do when I was invited into the celebration of the performance. It only took me 40 years to find a radio station that believed in my art of talk. Along the way I learned a lot of incredible lessons about showmanship and formats. When I'm blessed with the opportunity to share lessons with tomorrows radio people I always put them in a room alone. They can listen to music but they can't do anything but sit there. They need to build a relationship with boredom. Radio in 2018 is all about selling the station and the songs. Your personality means nothing. Get used to being bored or change the way we are growing.
