The final goal came from Carlos Alberto, the Brazilian captain, who sealed the victory with a powerful strike in the 86th minute. This goal, which involved a series of precise passes and a perfectly timed run by Alberto, is often considered one of the greatest goals in World Cup history.
Brazil's victory in the 1970 World Cup cemented their status as a footballing superpower. The team, which also featured other notable players such as Tostão, Rivelino, and Clodoaldo, is often regarded as one of the best football teams ever assembled. Their style of play, characterized by fluid attacking moves, skill, and creativity, revolutionized the sport and inspired generations of footballers worldwide.
Pelé's performance in this World Cup was particularly memorable, as it was his last appearance in the tournament. He ended his World Cup career with an impressive tally of 12 goals and 10 assists across four editions (1958, 1962, 1966, and 1970).
The 1970 FIFA World Cup triumph marked Brazil's third World Cup title, following their successes in 1958 and 1962. This victory also made them the first team to win the Jules Rimet trophy permanently, as the rules at the time stated that any team winning the World Cup three times would keep the trophy forever.
