There are two main techniques: the Biologically Appropriate Raw Food (BARF) diet, which consists of 60-80% raw meaty bones and 20-40% fruits, veggies, meat, eggs, and dairy, and the prey-model diet, which mimics a dog's natural diet in the wild and recommends 80% muscle meat, 10% bone, and 10% organ meat.
However, there are risks involved in feeding a raw food diet, as all pet foods can contain harmful bacteria like salmonella.
It's important to talk to your vet before starting your dog on a raw food diet and to follow proper sanitation guidelines.
Dogs' meals should be organic, unprocessed, whole food-based, and raw whenever possible, including muscle meat, organ meat, whole fish, and raw meaty bones. Cooked bones should never be fed to dogs, as they can become brittle and splinter....
