Story Transcript:

Nb: Regnet plasket ned over Bergen.
En: The rain poured down over Bergen.

En: Lars and Ingrid were stuck on Bryggen, without a single umbrella to hide under.

Nb: Himlen var mørkegrå, nesten sort.
En: The sky was dark gray, almost black.

En: The waves crashed against the dock, and the two friends realized that they wouldn't be able to get home anytime soon.

Nb: Begge stirret på regndråpene.
En: Both stared at the raindrops.

En: The sky cried as if it wanted to drown the city completely.

En: It was a Sunday, and the day before had been so sunny.

En: Lars, with his messy hair sticking out in all directions, shook his head.

En: Ingrid, with her blue eyes and shiny hair, sighed deeply.

Nb: Plutselig hørte de et jubel over regnets bråk.
En: Suddenly, they heard a cheer amidst the noise of the rain.

En: They turned around, and there stood Oskar.

En: He was tall and broad, with a smile that always lit up.

En: He was known to be a bit strange, but in a good way.

Nb: Oskar holdt på en paraply.
En: Oskar held an umbrella.

En: But it wasn't a normal umbrella.

Nb: Den var gigantisk.
En: It was gigantic.

En: It was big and colorful, with stripes of different colors.

Nb: Oskar vinket og ropte: "Trenger dere hjelp?
En: Oskar waved and shouted, "Do you need help?

Nb: Jeg har en stor paraply!
En: I have a big umbrella!"

Nb: " Han lo, og hans latter kunne høres over regnet.
En: He laughed, and his laughter could be heard over the rain.

Nb: Lars og Ingrid stirret på paraplyen.
En: Lars and Ingrid stared at the umbrella.

Nb: Så begynte de å le.
En: Then they started laughing.

Nb: De lo så mye at magene deres vondt.
En: They laughed so much that their stomachs hurt.

En: They laughed at the umbrella, they laughed at how wet they were, and they laughed at the absurdity of the situation.

Nb: Glade, de løp mot Oskar.
En: Joyfully, they ran towards Oskar.

Nb: De klemte seg under paraplyen, alle sammen.
En: They squeezed under the umbrella, all together.

En: Even with Oskar's large size, they barely fit.

En: For the rest of the day, the three of them spent time under the umbrella.

En: They ran through Bergen, threw themselves into puddles, and laughed.

Nb: De lo hele dagen.
En: They laughed all day.

En: The rain continued to pour down, but they didn't care.

En: They were together, they were dry, and they were happy.

En: As the day turned into evening and the rain finally stopped, they said goodbye to each other.

En: They all agreed that this had been their best rainy day ever.

Nb: Hva kan være bedre enn det?
En: What could be better than that?

En: A rainy day in Bergen, a giant umbrella, and friends laughing together.

En: The day ended where it started, on Bryggen, with one difference: they were wet, but happy.

En: To this day, when it starts raining in Bergen, you'll see Lars, Ingrid, and Oskar.

Nb: Og selvfølgelig, den gigantiske paraplyen.
En: And of course, the giant umbrella.

Nb: De løper rundt, leker og ler.
En: They run around, play, and laugh.

En: And even though the sky is crying, there is no sadness to be found.

En: Only happiness, playfulness, and a giant umbrella.
