This actually provided a lot of New information about the industry that I was not aware of and I will say Rachel does a fantastic job of being honest and authentic of what the business really is and it not just being about a s**x industry and like all industries you decide what path you want to go down. 1. Definitely in my age group I am seeing A LOT of women who, in a term Rachel used are “Starlet” performers and actually never transition to a “P***star” type of branding. I have in my own personal experience seen those same “Starlet” performers go even the Es***t route which prior to listening to this episode I thought was actually solely a personal based decision, but in actuality it’s not only going to affect personally but business wise as well. Rachel provided great insight that their is a VERY big difference and it’s almost a must to separate in this industry from Business vs Personal and how crucial it is to treat in this industry as a Business 1st, Personally 2nd. 2. I was not aware of the discrepancy of work that in the industry from a Man’s perspective vs the woman’s perspective. I actually found it quite unsettling being a man especially how easily mentally that can be damaging not only internally for a man but could develop into some narcissistic external action for a few reasons. 1. That man could easily take what I call a “Jock” approach and start developing narcissistic tactic and actions based off how in Rachel’s words “arrive on set much later” and could develop a very intense superiority complex. 2. A man could very easily internalize all of that and question himself(using my own personal prompts) “am I just a lump of meat having s**x?” “Am I just being used for how I look and who I naturally am?” “What is the purpose of me doing this anyways?” That one big discrepancy from the man and woman’s perspective could cause A LOT of internal/external conflict. This definitely opened up my eyes how much mental toughness you have to have in this industry. It quite frankly as a Man does not make it all glamorous as I thought early on in my life from high school-college. 3. And the prior 2 points I mentioned actually prove this one 100% THEIR IS LITTLE TO NO CHEMISTRY BUILDING IN THIS BUSINESS!!! This one thing alone provided a complete 360 of my prior views of the industry where I thought “maybe not complete 100% chemistry between the actors/actresses but maybe 60%” I find it hard to believe now(unless you are working with the same person throughout your career) that even 20% chemistry exists in these videos. That alone plays a HUGE factor in the mental toughness needed in this industry. Conclusion: I have caught snippets of other P***Stars podcast(most recently Mia Malkova) and I always felt they weren’t being their authentic self to the fullest and holding back knowledge they have and truth that they are not sharing. I actually was surprised how authentic and truthfulness was in Rachel’s words and perspective on the industry. This was amazing to hear and at the end of the day if something causes a perspective change that is a 10/10 in my book. Amazing podcast and more specifically an amazing episode!!!
