  • The Holy Prophetﷺ was known as the walking Qur'an. Every believer must aspire to this lofty goal - to be as the Qur'an prescribes & commands, practising every good and avoiding every evil, until the end product is a soft, kindly, humble, patient believer, from whom no harm comes forth.
  • Planting this seed of reciting and living the Qur'an in our young ones, is our greatest mission today. In a time where our education system turns its back on religousity and servanthood, we must strive to bring our children on this path, to attain salvation in both worlds. Make the study of the Qur'an, the most important pursuit of their lives.
  • The superiority of the Word of Allahﷻ over all other words, is the superiority of Allahﷻ over all of creation. (Hadeeth Qudsi)
  • Each letter of the Qur'an when recited, gives 10 hasanah (rewards). (Hadeeth)
  • The recitation of the Qur'an is a cure (shifa') for all of Mankind's illnesses. As much as we are abandoning the Qur'an, that much we are seeing more and more illnesses emerging that are filling our hospitals to capacity. When you abandon the cure, what can you expect the diseases to do?
  • The recitation of the Qur'an is a syafa'ah in the grave and on the day of Judgement, protecting its reader from punishment (azab) and suffering.
  • The recitation of the Qur'an is a light that descends upon its reader's heart and his home.
  • The recitation of Qur'an is Guidance towards safety in both worlds. The prohibitions of the Qur'an are like the red traffic lights on the roads - beat the lights, and one's life is in peril.
  • The exhortations to do good in the Qur'an are portals of safety, forgiveness, blessings and dressings. Each good deed that you abandon from it, is an unimaginable loss that you will regret eternally.
  • Read Qur'an daily, even if it's just a few lines. In our Naqshbandi Way, mureeds must improve till they can read one Juz a day. Read a little after each prayer. Nowadays there are Qur'an Apps that make this so easy to do.
  • Divide out the 30 Juz of the Qur'an amongst your family and friends and meet to conduct a Khatam Qur'an once all have completed reading. Do this all your lives...
  • The Holy Prophetﷺ advised the Ummah to meet for Majlis Khatam Qur'an as the angels gather up to the Arash, to bless the readers all night or all day long, depending when the Khatam was done. Doas made during majlis Khatam Qur'an are accepted.
  • The late parents of those who read Qur'an, are dressed in Crowns and Robes of Honour in akhirat.
  • Teach your children to read Qur'an and make it part of your daily devotions.
  • Once you can read Qur'an, then learn tajweed (rules of Qur'an recitation), so that you can read with tarteel (slow, measured rhythmic tones). Then read the translation so that you know what you are reciting about, and later on learn the tafsir, so you understand the reasons and secrets behind the descent of these verses. Finally learn the language of the Qur'an, to fully experience the sweetness of this Divine Gift. So progress step by step and let your lives revolve around the Qur'an, just as pilgrims tawaf around the Ka'bah.
  • The Qur'an is a Divine Miracle, preserved by Allahﷻ till the end of times. It is a Divine Gift, from a Lord Most Kind and Most Merciful. And He has made it easy to learn and read it.
  • Would you turn your backs on such a precious gift given to you?
