In this episode Durell is joined by entrepreneur and consultant Maunda Land. Durell and Maunda begin the episode talking about how they got connected at an entrepreneur conference called S.I.S. (Support Influences Success). Durell shares how inspired he was after hearing Maunda share about being a serial entrepreneur and her passion for helping others achieve financial freedom. Durell shares that he is driven by passion and he’s very particular about the things he chooses to get personally involved in. Durell says the reason why being driven by passion matters is because when embarking on the entrepreneurial journey there will be very difficult days along the journey. Durell and Maunda talk about how difficult it is to get someone to pay you for a service and all the different points of that must be touched before getting a sale or client to hire you. Maunda shares that she has been an executive for an organization as well as an entrepreneur in which she says that she works more hours for herself in that role because of the fact that as an entrepreneur if you don’t produce there’s no one that will do it for you. Maunda shares that most people want the millions of dollars but are unwilling to do that type of work because it truly takes a special kind of person and hustle to achieve that kind of success. Maunda shares that believes everyone deserves financial freedom. She shares that there’s freedom in taking side hustles that revolve around our passions.

Maunda shares that she was an executive for an organization and was offered the opportunity to learn how to trade foreign currency. She then joined a MLM that taught people about the power of trading foreign currency which at first was as a customer and then decided to build a team to earn passive income. She shares that one day she came across a gentlemen within that program that was speaking about crypto currency and how to go about buying it and what all that entailed. Maunda talks about having the knowledge about crypto currency, and eventually starting an online summer camp to teach young kids about it. She also shares about connecting with Hill Harper and Naja Roberts who created a Black Wall Street App to allow African Americans the ability to purchase crypto from other African Americans. She talks about having the opportunity to work with Naja Roberts as a consultant due to her non-profit background and how that presented an opportunity to work and teach kids at a physical summer camp teaching about crypto currency. Maunda says because she took action and said yes to learn how to trade, she was able to take advantage of these amazing opportunities that have been afforded to her. Durell shares that one of his mentors, Karen Marie Mason, always shares that when it comes to opportunities to just say yes and let the universe work it out.

Maunda talks about originally being from Michigan and meeting her husband and after 15 years years deciding to move to Orlando Florida. She talks about meeting over 150 people during her first few weeks living there. She shares about attending the Mayor’s Inauguration and landing a job as an executive at a global association. Maunda says that gave her the opportunity to build contacts and travel all over the world. Durell talks about the importance of being able to see other parts of the world because of the perspective of how other people around the world live.
Maunda and Durell talk about going to college and getting a degree and if a degree is the only way to be successful specifically for black people of color. Maunda shares that success isn’t measured by a degree but more about what you’re put on this earth to do. She shares that for her it’s truly about helping others achieve financial freedom. Durell shares that by no means is he saying that people shouldn’t go to school, it’s a question of does whatever you want to do require a post secondary education. Maunda talks about not getting yourself into a lot of debt especially when it comes to achieving financial freedom.
