Story Transcript:

Nb: På landet i nord, blant fjell og fjord, bodde en gutt ved navn Ole.
En: In the countryside of the north, among mountains and fjords, there lived a boy named Ole.

Nb: Han var en drømmer, alltid med nesen i en bok.
En: He was a dreamer, always with his nose in a book.

Nb: Dette skjedde i det vakre landskapet av Lofoten, en øygruppe kjent for sin majestetiske skjønnhet og rike kultur.
En: This happened in the beautiful landscape of Lofoten, an archipelago known for its majestic beauty and rich culture.

Nb: En dag var Ole dypt fortapt i en bok på norsk.
En: One day, Ole was deeply engrossed in a Norwegian book.

Nb: Det var et stort, tykt leksikon, fylt med kompliserte ord og uttrykk.
En: It was a large, thick encyclopedia filled with complicated words and expressions.

Nb: Med et stort smil på leppene, hoppet han fra ord til ord, fra setning til setning, og sugde inn nye lærdommer som en svamp.
En: With a big smile on his lips, he jumped from word to word, from sentence to sentence, and absorbed new knowledge like a sponge.

Nb: Plutselig stoppet han opp, lamslått av det han så.
En: Suddenly, he stopped, stunned by what he saw.

Nb: Det var et ord så langt og komplisert at det nesten fylte en hel linje på siden.
En: It was a word so long and complicated that it almost filled an entire line on the page.

Nb: Han prøvde å uttale ordet, men det var som om tungen hans hadde blitt surret inn i en knute.
En: He tried to pronounce the word, but it was as if his tongue had become tangled.

Nb: Han prøvde igjen og igjen, men hver gang endte han opp med å lage en merkelig lyd.
En: He tried again and again, but each time he ended up making a strange sound.

Nb: "Kanskje jeg trenger hjelp," tenkte Ole, og bestemte seg for å finne noen som kunne hjelpe ham.
En: "Maybe I need help," thought Ole, and decided to find someone who could assist him.

Nb: Hans første stopp var Hans, den lokale fiskeren.
En: His first stop was Hans, the local fisherman.

Nb: Hans var klok og elsket å fortelle historier til Ole.
En: Hans was wise and loved telling stories to Ole.

Nb: Men da Hans hørte det lange ordet, klødde han seg i hodet.
En: But when Hans heard the long word, he scratched his head.

Nb: "Jeg er lei for det, Ole," sa han.
En: "I'm sorry, Ole," he said.

Nb: "Jeg kan fange de største fiskene her i Lofoten, men jeg kan ikke uttale det ordet.
En: "I can catch the biggest fish here in Lofoten, but I can't pronounce that word."

Nb: "Skuffet, men ikke motløs, gikk Ole til Nanna, innehaver av byens kafé.
En: Disappointed, but not discouraged, Ole went to Nanna, the owner of the town's café.

Nb: Nanna var alltid vennlig og hjelpsom, med et hjerte like varmt som de kaffekoppene hun serverte.
En: Nanna was always friendly and helpful, with a heart as warm as the coffee cups she served.

Nb: Men selv hun kunne ikke uttale det lange ordet, og tilbød Ole en kopp varm kakao som trøst.
En: But even she couldn't pronounce the long word and offered Ole a cup of hot cocoa as consolation.

Nb: Ole ble mer motløs, men han ga ikke opp.
En: Ole felt more discouraged, but he didn't give up.

Nb: Han bestemte seg for å prøve en siste gang.
En: He decided to try one last time.

Nb: Han dro til biblioteket og viste det lange ordet til bibliotekaren Frøken Sigrun.
En: He went to the library and showed the long word to the librarian, Miss Sigrun.

Nb: Hun så på det lange ordet, gjorde en pause, og så prøvde hun å uttale det.
En: She looked at the long word, paused, and then tried to pronounce it.

Nb: Og til Oles forbauselse, klarte hun det!
En: And to Ole's amazement, she succeeded!

Nb: "Hemoglobinometertangenskoordinasjonen," uttalte hun tydelig og rolig.
En: "Hemoglobinometertangenskoordinasjonen," she pronounced clearly and calmly.

Nb: Ole prøvde å kopiere henne, og til slutt, etter mange forsøk, klarte han det.
En: Ole tried to imitate her, and finally, after many attempts, he succeeded.

Nb: En følelse av triumf strømmet gjennom ham.
En: A feeling of triumph surged through him.

Nb: Han takket Frøken Sigrun og sprang hjem, lykkelig og lettet.
En: He thanked Miss Sigrun and ran home, happy and relieved.

Nb: Historien ender på en positiv note, og minner oss om at selv når noe ser umulig ut, gir vi ikke opp.
En: The story ends on a positive note, reminding us that even when something seems impossible, we do not give up.

Nb: Vi fortsetter å prøve, og til slutt, vil vi lykkes.
En: We continue to try, and eventually, we will succeed.

Nb: Og det er nettopp det Ole lærte den dagen i Lofoten, idet han mestret uttalelsen av det lange, kompliserte ordet.
En: And that's exactly what Ole learned that day in Lofoten, as he mastered the pronunciation of the long, complicated word.
