Story Transcript:

Nb: Det var en kald vinterdag i Oslo.
En: It was a cold winter day in Oslo.

Nb: Lars og Ingrid gikk på den glatte isen.
En: Lars and Ingrid were walking on the slippery ice.

Nb: Lars var alltid forsiktig.
En: Lars was always cautious.

Nb: Ingrid var alltid modig.
En: Ingrid was always brave.

Nb: Hun lo og skøyt fort.
En: She laughed and skated fast.

Nb: Lars fulgte etter, men det var vanskelig.
En: Lars followed along, but it was difficult.

Nb: Isen var veldig glatt!
En: The ice was very slippery!

Nb: Plutselig gikk det galt.
En: Suddenly, something went wrong.

Nb: Lars føtter forsvant under ham.
En: Lars' feet disappeared from under him.

Nb: Han falt hardt ned i en snøbanke.
En: He fell hard into a snowbank.

Nb: "Å nei!
En: "Oh no!"

Nb: " ropte han.

Nb: Hun lo så hun ristet.

Nb: "Mener du det var morsomt?
En: "Do you think it was funny?"

Nb: " spurte Lars.
En: Lars asked.

Nb: Hans tårer blandet seg med smeltet snø på kinnet.
En: His tears mixed with melted snow on his cheek.

Nb: Ingrid så på Lars.
En: Ingrid looked at Lars.

Nb: Hun lo ikke lenger.
En: She wasn't laughing anymore.

Nb: Hun kjente en klump i magen.
En: She felt a lump in her stomach.

Nb: Hun hadde ledd av Lars, og det føltes galt.
En: She had laughed at Lars, and it felt wrong.

Nb: "Jeg er lei meg," sa Ingrid, "jeg burde ikke ha ledd.
En: "I'm sorry," said Ingrid, "I shouldn't have laughed."

Nb: " Ingrid rakte ut hånden for å hjelpe Lars opp.
En: Ingrid reached out her hand to help Lars up.

En: He looked at Ingrid.

En: His blue eyes were sad, but warm.

En: He took her hands and stood up.

Nb: Han var ikke sint på Ingrid lenger.
En: He wasn't mad at Ingrid anymore.

Nb: Ingrid sa, "La oss gå hjem.
En: Ingrid said, "Let's go home.

Nb: Vi kan drikke varm kakao og tenne opp i peisen.
En: We can have hot cocoa and light a fire in the fireplace."

Nb: " Lars nikket.
En: Lars nodded.

Nb: De gikk hjem, arm i arm.
En: They walked home, arm in arm.

En: They laughed together.

Nb: Men denne gangen var det ikke på andres bekostning.
En: But this time, it wasn't at someone's expense.

Nb: Det var av glede og vennskap.
En: It was from joy and friendship.

Nb: Fra den dagen lærte Ingrid å være mer følsom for andres følelser.
En: From that day on, Ingrid learned to be more sensitive to other people's feelings.
