Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:26 This was during Jesus' Sermon on the Mount Jesus where He is probably talking to a bunch of blue-collar workers, farmers, fishermen, and shepherds. So he uses imagery they can easily understand. The sparrows live a good life of what God has provided for them, and they don't even have to clock in at a job. They don't have a savings account, but they're not stressed about it because God himself feeds them. If He's attentive to the birds, how much more attention does he pay to us? His kids, all living creatures are his creation, but only humans are made in his image. For those of us who are his children, our Father can be trusted to meet our needs because He's a good father and he is where the joy is!
