The gates of hell are various places on the surface of the world that have acquired a legendary reputation for being entrances to the underworld. Often they are found in regions of unusual geological activity, particularly volcanic areas, or sometimes at lakes, caves, or mountains.

As far back as the Greco-Roman times there have been various locations believed to be the alleged “gates of hell”. In this episode we are going to look at some of the various locations around the world that are often referred to, or have ties with being potential portals to the world of the damned.
