Sv: Det var mitt i sommaren i Stockholm.
En: It was in the middle of summer in Stockholm.

Sv: Anna och Erik gick längs med vattnet, solen lyste på dem.
En: Anna and Erik were walking along the water, the sun shining down on them.

Sv: Ikväll var de inbjudna till en middag.
En: Tonight they were invited to a dinner.

Sv: Hos deras vän Lena hade de alltid roligt.
En: They always had fun at their friend Lena's place.

Sv: Men det var en sak de alltid blev rädda för.
En: But there was one thing they always dreaded.

Sv: Att Lena skulle erbjuda dem mer mat.
En: That Lena would offer them more food.

Sv: Väl framme hos Lena, satt de alla vid bordet.
En: Once they arrived at Lena's place, they all sat at the table.

Sv: Lena hade lagat många goda rätter.

Sv: " Men Lena skrattade bara och sa: "Ni måste äta mer!
En: But Lena just laughed and said: "You must eat more!

En: You must like my food!"

Sv: " De ville inte såra Lena, men de var verkligen mätta.
En: They didn't want to hurt Lena's feelings, but they were truly full.

Sv: Anna och Erik tittade på varandra.
En: Anna and Erik looked at each other.

Sv: De måste hitta en lösning.
En: They had to find a solution.

Sv: Anna tänkte snabbt och sa: "Lena, din mat är verkligen god.
En: Anna quickly thought and said: "Lena, your food is really good.

Sv: Men vi vill ta med resten hem och äta imorgon.
En: But we want to take the rest home and eat it tomorrow.

En: Can we do that?"

Sv: " Lena såg förvånad ut, men sa sedan: "Ja, varför inte?
En: Lena looked surprised, but then said: "Yes, why not?"

Sv: "Erik plockade upp resten av maten från sina och Annas tallrikar.
En: Erik gathered the remaining food from their and Anna's plates.

Sv: Han lade dem i en matlåda.
En: He put them in a food container.

Sv: De tackade Lena för middagen och gick hem.
En: They thanked Lena for the meal and went home.

Sv: På vägen hem skrattade de åt situationen.
En: On the way home, they laughed about the situation.

Sv: Det var lite konstigt att ta med sig mat från en middagsbjudning, men de var nöjda med sin lösning.
En: It was a bit odd to take food from a dinner party, but they were happy with their solution.

Sv: Och bestämde sig för att använda samma knep nästa gång de gick till en middag hos Lena.
