=== SUMMARY === 🚨🚨🚨
Jon McDonald, founder of the distinguished firm, The Good, joins us here today on season 4 episode 52 of Making Bank to discuss how best to optimize the conversion rate in eCommerce.
In college, Jon double majored in Computer Science and Visual Arts, always valuing the aesthetic and usability of a website, as well as the code to build it. For over ten years, he has run The Good, a conversion rate optimization firm that has worked with brands such as Nike to improve all online experiences until there are only good ones left. Jon prioritizes the thought patterns of the consumer and adjusts the website to fit their needs.
Jon champions any choices that remove the barriers the consumer faces to convert. While he tracks analytics, utilizes heat, scroll and click maps, he believes it all comes down to simple fixes. Every consumer is in search of a product that will tend to a pain or need. Jon expresses how common internet practices, such as pop up email lists or first-time discounts, actually deter consumers from converting to your product that may help them. As he believes, if you wouldn’t do it in a retail store, don’t do it online.
Highlights from today’s episode include: 🚀🚀🚀
✔Valuing aesthetics as much as technology
✔Saving the consumer time and energy
