On November 22, 1969, The Band released their self-titled second album. It was unlike anything heard before and sold a million copies in its first month.

This FREE one-hour national radio special features a new interview with Robbie Robertson and archival interviews with Garth Hudson and the late Levon Helm, Rick Danko and Richard Manuel in which they talk about this landmark album recorded in the pool house at Sammy Davis Jr.'s home in the Hollywood Hills. You'll hear beautiful new mixes and remastered classics like "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," "Up on Cripple Creek" and "Rag Mama Rag," along with previously unreleased songs from their 1969 Woodstock performance -- just three months before the album was released.
