The FLAG Award for Teaching Excellence recognizes and celebrates extraordinary New York City public school teachers who inspire learning through creativity, passion, and commitment. Our guests are Grand Prize Winners Cheryl Rizzo, of P.S. 232 The Lindenwood School in Queens, and Penelope Smetters-Jacono, of Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music. The nomination process for the 2022 FLAG Award will launch on September 27. Students, parents, principals, fellow teachers, and other colleagues can nominate teachers.
