Story Transcript:

Lt: Vieną šiltą pavasario dieną Gediminas nusprendė pasivaikščioti po Vilniaus senamiestį.
En: One warm spring day, Gediminas decided to take a walk through the old town of Vilnius.

Lt: Saulė švietė ir paukščiai čiulbėjo, primindami jam, kad žiema pagaliau baigėsi.
En: The sun was shining and the birds were chirping, reminding him that winter had finally ended.

Lt: Nusprendęs pasigrožėti architektūra, Gediminas užsuko į Pilies gatvę.
En: Choosing to admire the architecture, Gediminas walked along Pilies Street.

Lt: Čia būrėsi turistai, fotografuojantys gražius namus ir bažnyčias.
En: Here, tourists gathered to capture photos of the beautiful houses and churches.

Lt: Tada jis pamatė ją – nuostabią statulą moters figūros prie vienos galerijos.
En: Then he saw her - a wonderful statue of a woman's figure outside one of the galleries.

Lt: Įspūdinga statula buvo taip realistiška, kad Gediminas susipainiojo.
En: The impressive statue was so realistic that Gediminas got confused.

Lt: - Atsiprašau, gal galėtumėte man pasakyti, kur yra Artūro Gedimino kalnas?
En: "Excuse me, could you tell me where Gedimino Hill is?"

Lt: – paklausė jis, nemanėdamas, kad kalba su negyva figūra.
En: he asked, not realizing he was speaking to an inanimate figure.

Lt: Aišku, statula neatsakė.
En: Of course, the statue did not respond.

Lt: Gediminas pasijuto kiek kvailai, bet manė, kad galbūt mergina tiesiog yra užsisvajojusi ar kurčia.
En: Gediminas felt a bit silly, but thought that perhaps the girl was just daydreaming or deaf.

Lt: - Atrodo, labai įdomiai stovi čia.
En: "You seem to be standing very interestingly here.

Lt: Turistai turbūt dažnai sustoja pagrožėtis, - tęsė jis, nusijuokdamas pats sau.
En: Tourists probably often stop to admire,” he continued, laughing at himself.

Lt: Tuo metu pro šalį ėjo Ričardas ir Laima- du Gedimino draugai.
En: Meanwhile, Gediminas' friends Ričardas and Laima were walking by.

Lt: Jie pamatė Gediminą, kalbantį su statula, ir negalėjo susilaikyti nuo juoko.
En: They saw Gediminas talking to the statue and couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Lt: - Gedimina, su kuo čia plepi?
En: "Gediminas, who are you chattering with?"

Lt: – iš kartos klausė Ričardas.
En: Ričardas immediately asked.

Lt: Kai Gediminas suprato savo klaidą, jam taip pat tapo juokinga.
En: When Gediminas realized his mistake, he found it just as funny.

Lt: Jis suprato, kaip kvailai atrodo kalbėdamas su statula, kuri negalėjo atsakyti.
En: He realized how silly he looked talking to a statue that couldn't respond.

Lt: - Aš tik bandžiau užmegzti pokalbį, bet, regis, mano pašnekovė yra akmeninis paukštis, - tarė Gediminas, nesustodamas juoktis.
En: "I was just trying to strike up a conversation, but it seems my companion is a stone bird," Gediminas said, laughing uncontrollably.

Lt: Laima švelniai palytėjo Gedimino ranką ir tarė:- Kiekvienam pasitaiko nesusipratimų.
En: Laima gently patted Gediminas' hand and said: "Everyone encounters misunderstandings.

Lt: Svarbiausia yra mokėti juoktis iš savęs.
En: The most important thing is to be able to laugh at yourself.

Lt: Be to, dabar turime puikią istoriją, kurią galėsime pasakoti draugams.
En: Besides, now we have a great story to tell our friends."

Lt: Tądien jie ilgai juokėsi prie tos statulos ir leido laiką drauge, mėgaudamiesi senamiesčio vaizdais ir pasakojimais.
En: That day, they laughed for a long time at the statue and spent time together, enjoying the sights and stories of the old town.

Lt: O Gediminas įsitikino, kad kartais net ir neįprastas nesusipratimas gali tapti geriausia dienos pradžia.
En: Gediminas became convinced that sometimes even an unusual misunderstanding can become the best start to the day.
