The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals seems unconvinced by the Biden administration's bid to overturn a lower court ban on contacting social media companies about potential misinformation, according to Reuters. At oral argument, one judge observed that government officials had a threatening tone when communicating with platforms despite the U.S. Justice Department's claims that the companies did not face undue pressure. Missouri v. Biden, No. 23-30445, oral argument held (5th Cir. Aug. 10, 2023).
