Sl: Mateja je stala pred hišo, kjer je preživela otroštvo.
En: Mateja stood in front of the house where she had spent her childhood.

Sl: Velika družinska hiša v slikoviti vasi je bila obdana s cvetočimi poletnimi cvetovi.
En: The large family house in the picturesque village was surrounded by blooming summer flowers.

Sl: V ozadju so se razprostirale zelene hribi z jasnim modrim nebom zgoraj.
En: In the background, green hills stretched out under a clear blue sky.

Sl: Hiša je bila videti prijazna, a Mateja je v srcu čutila težo.
En: The house appeared welcoming, but Mateja felt a heaviness in her heart.

Sl: Gregor je sedel na verandi, gledal jo je s skrbnim izrazom.
En: Gregor was sitting on the porch, watching her with a concerned expression.

Sl: "Mateja, morava se pogovoriti," je rekel.
En: "Mateja, we need to talk," he said.

Sl: "Vem, Gregor," je odgovorila Mateja.
En: "I know, Gregor," Mateja replied.

Sl: "Težko mi je. Ta hiša pomeni toliko za naju."
En: "This is hard for me. This house means so much to us."

Sl: Gregor je pokimal.
En: Gregor nodded.

Sl: "To razumem, ampak mislim, da bi bilo najbolje hišo prodati.
En: "I understand, but I think it would be best to sell the house.

Sl: Potrebujemo denar in jaz nimam časa niti možnosti, da bi se zanjo skrbel."
En: We need the money, and I don't have the time or means to take care of it."

Sl: Mateja je globoko vzdihnila.
En: Mateja sighed deeply.

Sl: "Vem, Gregor. Ampak ta hiša je naš dom.
En: "I know, Gregor. But this house is our home.

Sl: Tu so vsi spomini na starše, na otroštvo."
En: It's filled with memories of our parents, of our childhood."

Sl: Gregor se je premaknil proti njej, položil roko na njeno rame.
En: Gregor moved closer to her, placing a hand on her shoulder.

Sl: "Mateja, ne rečem, da morava pozabiti spomine.
En: "Mateja, I'm not saying we have to forget the memories.

Sl: Ampak morava biti praktična.
En: But we need to be practical.

Sl: Obe veva, da se bova le težko dogovorila o tem, kdo bi hišo obdržal."
En: We both know it would be difficult to decide who would keep the house."

Sl: Hitro je postalo očitno, da bo ta pogovor težak.
En: It quickly became clear that this conversation would be tough.

Sl: Mateja in Gregor sta sedela za staro leseno mizo, kjer sta jima starša vedno pripravljala obroke.
En: Mateja and Gregor sat at the old wooden table, where their parents used to prepare meals for them.

Sl: Spomini so ju preplavili.
En: Memories flooded back.

Sl: "Zakaj si se vedno moral odločati vse, Gregor?
En: "Why did you always have to make all the decisions, Gregor?

En: "You never understood how important this is to me."

Sl: "Seveda te razumem.
En: "Of course I understand.

Sl: Ampak tudi ti moraš razumeti moje stališče.
En: But you also need to understand my position.

Sl: Potrebujem stabilnost, finančno."
En: I need financial stability."

Sl: Ostra tišina je sledila.
En: A sharp silence followed.

Sl: Mateja je pogledala skozi okno.
En: Mateja looked out the window.

Sl: Vrt, kjer sta se kot otroka igrala, je bil še vedno lep.
En: The garden where they used to play as children was still beautiful.

Sl: "Ne želim izgubiti te hiše," je rekla mehko.
En: "I don't want to lose this house," she said softly.

Sl: "Je možno kakšno drugo rešitev?"
En: "Is there any other solution?"

Sl: Gregor je pomislil, nato pa počasi rekel:
En: Gregor thought for a moment, then slowly said,

Sl: "Kaj pa, če hišo obdrživa in jo oddajava kot počitniško hišo?
En: "What if we keep the house and rent it out as a holiday home?

Sl: Dobili bi denar, hiša pa bi ostala v družini."
En: We would get money, and the house would stay in the family."

Sl: Mateja je dvignila glavo, v njenih očeh je zasijal preblisk upanja.
En: Mateja lifted her head, a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

Sl: "Bi se to res dalo?"
En: "Could that really work?"

Sl: Gregor je resno pogledal.
En: Gregor looked serious.

Sl: "Ja, zakaj pa ne?
En: "Yes, why not?

Sl: Tako bi raziskala vse možnosti."
En: We could explore all the options."

Sl: Mateja je začutila, kako se ledena stena med njima topi.
En: Mateja felt the icy wall between them starting to melt.

Sl: "Hvala, Gregor," je rekla tiho.
En: "Thank you, Gregor," she said quietly.

Sl: "To bi pomenilo veliko."
En: "This would mean a lot."

Sl: Gregor je pokimal.
En: Gregor nodded.

Sl: "Tudi meni bi bilo to v pomoč.
En: "It would help me too.

Sl: Hiša je postala dediščina, ki ne predstavlja le preteklosti, ampak tudi prihodnosti.
En: The house became a legacy, representing not only the past but also the future.
